Lin Sha, born on 1940 in the Chinese Lunar Calendar in Yilan, Taiwan. In 1951 he started to learn the basic techniques of Chinese landscape painting from copying the brush strokes in the Mustard Seed Manual of Painting. In 1952 he graduated from the elementary school and enrolled to learn the important Chinese ancient text with a private tutor. In 1956 he entered the junior high school in Taipei, and completed the oil on canvas “Nostalgia” and “A Musician” in the style of Abstract Expressionism. In 1958 he entered the National Taipei Public College as the first early admission student because of his great achievement in poetry. He started a formal academic training in sketching during this time and was influenced by Mr. Li- Chun Sun, also in the creation of oil on canvas and traditional Chinese ink and brush painting by Mr. Cheng Yen Wu. In 1961 he graduated from the National Taiwan Public University. In 1970 he left for Spain and then moved to Paris, France in1980. In 1988 he settled down in the United States until now.
